Most of them discuss the work Smith carried out for Andrews' books Paul Revere and his engravings (1901) and New York as Washington knew it after the revolution (1905). Smith was a well known bookplate designer and engraver based in Boston. William Loring Andrews was a book collector, amateur publisher, writer and a founding member of the Grolier Club.
